Performance Evaluation of 780 Wp Rooftop Solar PV Power Backup System in Western Kenya

Aim: This study aimed to carry out performance analysis of a 780 Wp PV power backup system installed at learning institution in Western.
 Study design: To achieve this goal, site solar radiation received, ambient temperatures, dc current and voltages were measured order evaluation the system.
 Place Duration Study: Department electronics electrical, Kaiboi Technical Training Institute Nandi County, western Kenya was studied, between January 2020 December 2020.
 Methodology: Performance any depends on operating conditions (solar radiation, ambient/module temperature, etc.) available (geolocation dependent), installation (tilt orientation) arrays, finally proper sizing (PV array, battery, BOS). In paper, standard parameters reported literature utilized evaluate studied system. The array comprises four panels interconnected series/parallel produce an output rating W. A Pyranometer mounted plane (POA) measure intercepted by where daily data acquired interval five minutes. I-v also recorded. Different reviewed identify way do work.
 Results: Based system, results obtained show that annual effective energy is 3412.94 kWh, efficiency range 11.6% 14.1% depending amount yield 4.88 kWh/kW, reference 5.5 average ratio 76.3% capture losses 0.52 kWh/kW.
 Conclusion: It found need ~5-6 hours operate array’s rated power, adequate with regard ratios.
